A life built upon wealth will not pave the path to heaven. The most important thing is to lay all things down at the feet of Jesus. Don&#039;t let possessions possess you here on this Earth. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew 19:16-29\u00a016\u00a0<\/strong>And behold, a man came up to him, saying, \u201cTeacher, what good deed must I do to\u00a0have\u00a0eternal life?\u201d\u00a0<strong>17\u00a0<\/strong>And he said to him,\u00a0\u201cWhy do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good.\u00a0If you would enter life, keep the commandments.\u201d\u00a0<strong>18\u00a0<\/strong>He said to him, \u201cWhich ones?\u201d And Jesus said,\u00a0\u201cYou shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,\u00a0<strong>19\u00a0<\/strong>Honor your father and mother, and,\u00a0You shall love your neighbor as yourself.\u201d\u00a0<strong>20\u00a0<\/strong>The young man said to him,\u00a0\u201cAll these I have kept. What do I still lack?\u201d\u00a0<strong>21\u00a0<\/strong>Jesus said to him,\u00a0\u201cIf you would be\u00a0perfect, go,\u00a0sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have\u00a0treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.\u201d\u00a0<strong>22\u00a0<\/strong>When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>23\u00a0<\/strong>And Jesus said to his disciples,\u00a0\u201cTruly, I say to you,\u00a0only with difficulty will a rich person enter the kingdom of heaven.\u00a0<strong>24\u00a0<\/strong>Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter\u00a0the kingdom of God.\u201d\u00a0<strong>25\u00a0<\/strong>When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, \u201cWho then can be saved?\u201d\u00a0<strong>26\u00a0<\/strong>But Jesus\u00a0looked at them and said,\u00a0\u201cWith man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.\u201d\u00a0<strong>27\u00a0<\/strong>Then Peter said in reply, \u201cSee,\u00a0we have left everything and followed you. What then will we have?\u201d\u00a0<strong>28\u00a0<\/strong>Jesus said to them,\u00a0\u201cTruly, I say to you, in the new world,[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=matthew%2019&amp;version=ESV#fen-ESV-23788b\">b<\/a>]\u00a0when the Son of Man will sit on his glorious throne, you who have followed me\u00a0will also sit on twelve thrones,\u00a0judging the twelve tribes of Israel.\u00a0<strong>29\u00a0<\/strong>And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name&#039;s sake, will receive a hundredfold\u00a0and will\u00a0inherit eternal life.\u00a0<strong>30\u00a0<\/strong>But\u00a0many who are\u00a0first will be last, and the last first.<\/p>\n<p>Following Jesus and enjoying life are not mutually exclusive.
